SIlk Road / Mapping content production / Abu dhabi 2007

My first exploration into 3D mapping began with the Higher Colleges of Technology gala dinner in Abu Dhabi, where I helped shape a monumental projection on the majestic façade of the Emirates Palace. I was directly involved in the creation of the 3D content—from crafting the initial mood board and storyboard to producing the animatic that set the tone. As artistic lead, I defined the rhythm, visual style, and narrative direction, guiding a team of assistants, each with a precise role, to deliver the project on time.

The 10-minute piece, resumed by Pierre Marcout in one word: “Silk Road”, unfolded as a poetic voyage across civilizations. A luminous floating ribbon drifted across the architecture, symbolizing movement, exchange, and the vastness of Space, while a great rotating wheel marked the flow of Time. These two symbols—Space and Time—became the compass of my creative language. In the years that followed, the wheel evolved into surreal clock-like forms, and the ribbon continued as a silent traveler threading worlds together.
